At Byrna Technologies, we're proud to lead the way in American-made, less-lethal self-defense solutions. In this interview with CNN's Jake Tapper, CEO Bryan Ganz explains how we anticipated the return of strong tariff policies and made bold moves to bring nearly all of our manufacturing and sourcing back to the United States.
We relocated our ammunition production from South Africa and opened a second factory in Fort Wayne, Indiana—resulting in 100% of our ammunition and 92% of our launcher components now being made in the U.S. While there are higher hard costs, we've benefited from improved quality, faster turnaround times, and greater control over our supply chain.
Tariffs have helped level the playing field by addressing the flood of cheap, lower-quality imports from overseas. These policies are essential for protecting American jobs, manufacturing, and public safety—especially in our industry, where reliability can be the difference between life and death.
As we look to the future, Byrna remains committed to innovation, safety, and reshoring our supply chain so our customers can trust what they carry—because lives depend on it.
