From Tragedy to Action: One Mother’s Mission to Prevent Violence
In 2016, Josephine Wentzel’s world was shattered when her daughter was murdered. Left with more questions than answers—and no clear support—Josephine did what most couldn’t imagine: she launched her own investigation, tracking the suspect across Central America until justice was finally served.
But her story didn’t end there.
Out of grief and grit, Josephine founded Angels of Justice, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting families in the wake of violent crime. Today, her mission goes even further: to help prevent others from ever experiencing that pain.
Through education, awareness, and advocacy for less-lethal self-protection tools like Byrna, Josephine empowers families—especially women—to take their safety into their own hands. Her message is clear:
“We shouldn’t live in fear, but we should be prepared.”
Josephine’s courage has sparked a movement, turning heartbreak into hope for countless others.
